Function in this project is to allow access to sites and locations within these sites for exposure of damage dosimeters and to identify locations in sites wich requires damage assessment of their environment. They will provide the other participants with the historical background of the castle and information on the collections. They will also be given guidance on preventive conservation and environmental monitoring ( type of equipment to purchase ). They will also identify sites and locations within sites where damage to artworks has occurred and where sampling for pollutant gases would be beneficial. They will install the novel damage assessment monitors supplied, supervise their careful long term exposure and collect data when necessary. They will also compile a report of visual assessment of objects on display and proximity to exposure of the damage dosimeter, the number of visitors and the lighting and ventilation used.
